New Google option: look like Bing home page

Google is known for the “clean simple look” of its home page at Google.com. Bing has earned praise for the gorgeous photos changing daily on the Bing home page, stocked by Microsoft’s Corbis imagery.

Now Google has announced that you will be able to clutter up your Google.com page with a photo too.

Today, we’re introducing a new feature that brings a whole new level of personalization to Google by letting you add a favorite photo or image to the background of the Google homepage. You can choose a photo from your computer, your own Picasa Web Album or a public gallery hosted by Picasa which includes a selection of beautiful photos.

Jealous?

The Bing look option is being rolled out in the US.  You’ll know it’s reached you when you see a link on the lower left hand corner of the Google.com screen.

By the way, Bing allows you to switch off the photo and search from a plain page too.

You guys shouldn’t call yourselves “Inside Google”, but the “Otherside of Google”. It would be more accurate
